Assalamu Alaikum and thank you for being here...
Some Of The Best Work Is Done Quietly, By People Who Simply Showed Up
Behind every free book, every clear translation and every answered question at FIKR is someone who gave their time.
FIKR exists to make authentic Islamic knowledge easy to understand in clear American English. We translate classical works, publish research, and offer free resources through our library on Aqeedah, Fiqh, Seerah and Tazkiyah. We are a non-profit supported by our community, so volunteers are not extra help. They are how this work gets done.
If you have a skill, even a small one, there is likely a place for you here.

Why People Give Their Time To Fikr
To be part of something that lasts
A book you help polish can be read for years. A translation you check can reach a family you will never meet.
To use what they already know
Writers write. Designers design. Teachers explain. At FIKR, your everyday skill becomes a way of giving.
To learn alongside others
You’ll work next to people who care about getting things right, which is a good place to grow in research, writing, and teamwork.
To give on their own terms
Some volunteers give a few hours a month. Others take on a project. Both are welcome.
Where you can help
Core works in Aqidah, Fiqh, Tafsir, Hadith, and Tazkiyah translated with precision. We preserve the meaning and remove the language barrier.
Here is what volunteers do with us. Which tasks are open depends on our current projects, so we’ll talk with you about what fits.
Translate or check translations
If you read Arabic or English well, you can help turn classical texts into natural, readable English.
Edit and proofread
Fix typos, smooth rough sentences, and make hard ideas easier to follow.
Research and organize
Find sources, check references, and keep material tidy so our research team can focus on writing.
Write
Help draft articles and learning guides that explain things simply for beginners and families.
Design and create
Make covers, graphics, short videos, and social posts that make learning inviting.
Support teaching
If you have classroom or tutoring experience, you can help us shape resources that actually work for learners.
Spread the word
Share FIKR in your masjid, school, or study circle, and help us reach the people who need us.
A note on trust
Volunteers prepare, polish, and support our work. Matters of religious content and final review stay with our qualified Scholars Board. This is how we keep what we publish reliable.
Is this for you?
Probably yes, if you are:
- a student who wants real experience, not just a line on a resume
- a writer, editor, translator, or researcher with a few spare hours
- a designer or tech person who wants your work to matter
- a teacher or mentor who knows how people learn
- someone who simply cares about knowledge and wants to help
You don’t need to be a scholar. You don’t need to be an expert in everything. You do need to be sincere, reliable, and willing to learn.
You don’t have to do everything. Start with what you can offer.
How it works
- Fill in the short form
Tell us about your skills and how much time you have. It takes about two minutes. - Let’s talk
We’ll reach out, listen, and find a role that suits you. - Start small
You’ll begin with a clear task and support from the team, then take on more if you wish.
